This beautiful cross stitch design is a reproduction of an early 1800s antique theorem discovered at an outdoor antique market in Pennsylvania — on a bitterly cold day with 20-degree temperatures and whipping winds. Despite the chill, the piece immediately captured my attention, and I knew it had to be transformed into a sampler.
Recreating this design was a labor of love and a detailed process, but every step of bringing this historic piece to life was truly rewarding. The result is a timeless sampler that honors the original artwork while offering stitchers a unique and meaningful project rooted in history.
The model is stitched on 40 count linen using Needlepoint Silks, giving the finished piece rich color and refined detail.
